The Viking Festival Sussex Inlet Celebrates the Scandinavian Heritage of Sussex Inlet and the settlement of the area by Jacob Ellmoos and his family who came from the little Danish village of Ensted, near Hostrup, Aabenraa DENMARK.

The Viking Festival also recognises the importance of First Nations Communities who are sharing their culture and stories as part of the festival.

The story of the Ellmoos of Christian's Minde began on 26th February 1862, in the little Danish village of Ensted, near Hostrup, Aabenraa, with the marriage of a cabinet maker and ship fitter Christian Nielsen Ellmoos to Louise Marie Petersen - and with the birth of their second child, Jacob.
